Police Chief
Ann Starling
The Chief of Police serves as the chief executive of the Dade City Police Department and is responsible for its day-to-day operations. The position is also responsible for preparing the Department's annual budget. As Department head, the Chief is required to attend weekly staff meetings, bimonthly city commission meetings and events throughout the year. The Chief also functions as the Department's official liaison with various community groups, media outlets and law enforcement entities.
Captain of Police Operations
Lorenzo Moreno
The Captain of Police Operations is second in command of the Department. The Operations Captain oversees Uniform Patrol, K-9, School Resource Officers, Criminal Investigations, School Crossing Guards and is responsible for scheduling the patrol officers and sergeants. The Operations Captain also assists the Chief of Police in preparing and implementing the annual budget.
Captain of Police Administration
Capt. Robert M. Tungate
The Captain of Police Administration is third in command of the Department and is responsible for the supervision of the Forensics, Property Evidence, as well as the Records and Communications Divisions. The Captain of Police Administration also serves as the Public Information Officer and is responsible for agency Recruitment and Professional Standards. He writes, tracks, and manages grants; and supports the annual budget preparation process.
Executive Assistant to the Chief
Terri P. Reed
The Dade City Police Department employs one Executive Assistant who works directly for the Chief of Police, assisting with the coordination of all administrative functions of the Police Department. The position performs complex and responsible administrative work, including functions associated with budget maintenance and expenditure control. The Executive Assistant prepares and composes training records of sworn police officers required to meet Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) standards and regulations.
